Importance of teaching in teaching.

As a teacher, I believe that students should be taught the importance of mathematics in daily life. I am also adamant that students must also be taught important life lessons that relate to how to be successful and prepare for the future. I think it is inevitable that students are taught a basic math curriculum. I agree to the concepts of algebra, geometry, and statistics being taught, but I also believe that students should be taught mathematics that deals with finance before college level. Everyone I let know says I’m crazy about getting into math education. Then I ask them about their educational history and their aversion to mathematics comes from bad experiences. Either they had a terrible teacher or they think mathematics is useless outside of school. Therefore, I believe that as teachers we can change this by incorporating a more attractive curriculum that teaches students the fundamentals of our field, as well as tools that can be used throughout the student’s life. Students are so fragile when they are in our classrooms and we as teachers need to be able to take advantage of that and teach students to appreciate mathematics the way we do. We as teachers are responsible for teaching the next people who are going to run our companies, the government, protect our country therefore, along with the curriculum we need to teach students life lessons that can help them grow as person. They need to be able to take what we learn and apply it to real life. They also need to be able to learn …
